Researching Schools for Kids with Special Needs1

Posted by Deirdre // 01-02-2012

When we think about moving, we of course think about the relative ease of finding a great school elsewhere, and having that set in our minds – through middle and high school – is a huge impetus for moving away.
There’s a great discussion on the group today about ways to go about researching schools and services for kids with special needs. I can only imagine the additional layer of stress that adds on to a search, and finding relevant school and parent resources must be amazingly helpful. One parent suggested looking for a SEPTA group (Special Ed PTA) and if there isn’t one, ask the PTA President (good parent coordinators would likely be another option).

Any others have experience with this they’d like to share?
