It’s New Year’s Eve…0

Manhattan beach New Year's Eve day

What’s your plan? After a day at the beach (yeah, global warming) we made pizza with the kids (including cousin Violet who’s visiting), we’ll do a countdown to 8pm in jammies (probably all of us) and then the grown-ups will sit down to a double feature (Rushmore and Black Swan is the current plan) with my sister-in-law. We’re eating takeout from Tanoreen and drinking a good bottle of wine. In bed likely well before Midnight.

I hope 2012 brings you what you want, where you want it! Meaning, living situation of course but why limit it?

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Thanks Huffington Post.

Reasons to Love NY #272

Posted by Deirdre // 12-19-2011

I’ve never really been into this issue of NYMag. It seemed superfluous after a year’s worth of saying how great NY is, and I expected to find entries mostly about fabulous people living in fabulous digs leading fabulous lives. And then this year, I decided to actually read it.

It’s filled with fun tales about quirky people and places — the reasons it’s different to live here than visit. And it’s not at all Manhattan-centric, which I had presumed. Plus, there’s this great one about Brooklyn. Have a read if you haven’t already.
